Cross-Cultural Leadership Internship Program
Chicago and Los Angeles
The Cross-Cultural Leadership Intern Program (CCLIP) engages students in real-world applications of their academic studies through exposure to the diverse needs of the Los Angeles and Chicago Latino communities. Students will be immersed as interns in community-based organizations in the neighborhoods of Chicago and Los Angeles for eight weeks to live as members of, learn from, and serve the Latino community. Successful applicants must have a strong interest in issues facing the Latino community.

Timeline:
- Deadline for applications is Friday, February 10, 2012.
- Interviews will take place one week after applications are due.
- Students will be notified of acceptance one week after last student is interviewed.
- 8-week internship takes place from June 4 - July 27, 2012.
Costs:
- Living quarters, stipend for food, bus/train pass
- $2300.00 tuition scholarship to cover course credit for the summer internship
- All materials for 3-credit course
- Travel to and from Chicago or Los Angeles for the internship based on program funding and need
Academic Requirements:
- Attend three orientation sessions spring semester prior to internship
- Register for three-credit course. Credit is granted in the fall following completion of the internship
- Read all course books and course packet articles
- Complete study questions
- Interview two leaders in the community
- Keep a journal
- Participate in reflection sessions with facilitator and other interns
- Final presentation of your experience to other interns, community members, Hispanic Alumni of Notre Dame, at end of internship
- Write synthesis paper at the end of the experience
- Participate in all follow up activities in fall following internship such as; exit interview video, host open house for future potential applicants
