Using the Library and Archives

Students, faculty, and other researchers are most welcome in the Julian Samara Library at the Institute for Latino Studies.

The Julian Samora Library reading room is available for quiet study, group study, or for browsing Mondays through Fridays 9:00 am - 5:00 pm or by appointment.

The unique collection of primary source materials held by the Library is also available for researcher use. Special rules do apply to the use of these materials in order to ensure their preservation and so that all patrons are equally served. Those rules include:

  • Pencil use only; pencils are provided if you do not have one.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the Archives research area.
  • Archival materials may not be checked out and must remain in the room. A photocopier is available for limited use with staff assistance.

For inquiries or research assistance please contact us.
