The Institute for Latino Studies is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition “Mariposas” on display in the Crossroads Gallery for five days only during the month of November 2008. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 2:00–4:00 pm at the Notre Dame Downtown Crossroads Gallery.“Mariposas” features the photographic works of a women’s group from La Casa de Amistad. The images in the exhibition give expression to the experiences of immigrant women who have been in the midst of domestic violence. These personal snapshots of everyday life serve to empower these women to aid in the process of healing. The exhibition will run from November 13–16, 2008.
