University of Notre Dame
Each year the University of Notre Dame holds a forum focusing on a unique and engaging topic. In support of this annual forum and the selected topic of immigration, the Institute for Latino Studies has decided to hold a juried photographic exhibition in Galería América located in McKenna Hall.
The Institute had a total of thirty-four students submit works of art, out of which fifteen were selected to have photographs in the exhibition. Each student will receive a monetary prize for being selected to be part of the three-month exhibition. Our first place winner is Itzel Perez Zagal who is studying law at the University of Notre Dame and our second place winner is Caitlin Shannon who is an architecture student.
The selected photographs depict immigration in many areas of the world giving us a glimpse into the various opinions and views surrounding this topic. We hope that these thought provoking images will create a dialogue between the members of the Notre Dame community allowing for a better understanding of the subject.
