Maria Josefina Saldaña-Portillo, Professor of Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University, will present a lecture titled Indian Given: Racial Geographies across Mexico and the United States on February 22, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Eck Visitors Center Auditorium. The lecture is based on her book Indian Given (American Studies Association Book Prize Winner 2017) which addresses current racialized violence and resistance in Mexico and the United States with a genealogy that reaches back to the sixteenth century.

A light post-reception and book signing will follow. The Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore will be onsite for book sales.
