Public Lecture by María del Mar González-González

ILS art history faculty candidate María del Mar González-González will give a public lecture titled Shaping the Cultural Landscape: Allora and Calzadilla Latin/o Americanism at Venice. She received her Ph.D. (2013) in Art History from the University of Illinois, specializing in modern and contemporary art with a focus on Latino/a, Latin American, and Caribbean visual arts. She is presently a postdoctoral teaching fellow at the University of Utah, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on Latino/a and Chicano/a art, Latin American and Caribbean art, art and conflict, and global modern art and visual culture.
