A conference titled Afro-Latinos in Movement: Critical Approaches to Blackness and Transnationalism in the Americas will be convened by ILS faculty fellow and sociology faculty member Jennifer Jones on Friday, October 31, 2014. Speakers for this national conference include Alejandro de la Fuente (Director, Afro-Latin American Research Institute, Hutchins Center for African and African American Research at Harvard University), and Miriam Jiménez Román and Juan Flores (editors of The Afro-Latin@ Reader: History and Culture in the United States and leaders of the Afrolatin@ Forum).
