In recognition of the 40th anniversary of the Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism, this symposium honors Timothy Matovina's work as director of the Cushwa Center from 2002 to 2012. Dr. Matovina is professor of theology and co-director of the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame. He is the author of Latino Catholicism: Transformation in America's Largest Church (2012) and Guadalupe and Her Faithful: Latino Catholics in San Antonio, from Colonial Origins to the Present (2005).
