Transnational Migration in Comparative Perspective: Italy and the United States

October 21–23, 2015
Rome, Italy

Among the most challenging and complex issues facing the world today is how to regulate the movement of peoples from one country to another. An increasing number are leaving their countries of origin to find freedom from political persecution, safety from war, gainful employment, and the opportunity to live fulfilling lives in other nations. This interdisciplinary symposium aims to facilitate discussion and collaboration between scholars in the U.S. and Italy who work on transnational migration and to expand the range of policy options that can be informed through research.
