Fornés Playwriting Workshop Reading

The University of Notre Dame's Institute for Latino Studies, in collaboration with the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts, the College of Arts and Letters and the Department of Film, Television and Theatre, invite you to attend a reading of scenes written by members of the 2016 Fornés Playwriting Workshop, led by Migdalia Cruz and coordinated by Anne García-Romero.

The reading will feature scenes written by Taeyin ChoGlueck, Kristiana Rae Colón, Cusi Cram, Sandra Delgado, Lucas Garcia, Anne García-Romero, Javier Luis Hurtado, Gregory S. Moss, Charlie O'Leary, Ryan Oliveira, Monica Palacios, Iraisa Ann Reilly, Jelisa Jay Robinson, Adriana Sevahn Nichols and Jean Carlo Yunen.

The reading will be directed by Sandra Marquez and feature a cast that includes Paola Sanchez Abreu, James D. Farruggio, Cheryl Graef, Avi Roque, Gabriel Ruiz and Penelope Walker.

Award-winning playwright Maria Irene Fornés is considered by many to be the "founding mother" of U.S. Latina/o theatre. The Fornés Playwriting Workshop imparts her innovative playwriting methods to partipants as they immerse themselves in her legacy over the course of one week.
