Join ILS in our first event of the year where we will be showcasing the awe-inspiring work of María Tomasula in the art exhibit titled Lo que siempre queda as well as welcoming María Tomasula herself for a talk at 3:00 P.M.

María Tomasula is an artist and professor in the Department of Art, Art History, and Design here at the University of Notre Dame. Her work has been displayed in solo exhibitions at the Forum Gallery in New York and Los Angeles, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, as well as the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago. Her meticulous paintings of simple objects combined with vibrant and luminous colors create theatrical and poetic works influenced by Christian and Mexican/Spanish-colonial devotional art.

This exhibit will be on display all semester long in the Galería América @ ND at the Institute for Latino Studies located on the 3rd floor of Bond Hall. This exhibit is free and open to the public. Food and drinks will follow as part of the ILS Welcome Back Pachanga in the Julian Samora Scholars Lounge, 315 Bond Hall.
