Mariachi ND has proudly dedicated itself to preserving and embracing the Mexican musical tradition at Notre Dame since 1995. Over the years, the club has grown substantially, now boasting its largest membership in the club’s history. Mariachi ND marks another milestone as they debut a new repertoire of soulful rhythms that resonate across generations. Ballet Folklórico Azúl y Oro (BFAYO) was established to bring the vibrant tradition of Mexican folk dance to Notre Dame. With a mission to show that folk dance is not only lively and engaging but far from outdated, BFAYO revives the energy and spirit of ballet folklórico. This cultural art form traces its origins to Mexico’s post-revolutionary era, when a resurgence of interest in Indigenous heritage fostered a new sense of national identity.
