Operations Coordinator and Business Manager of the Institute for Latino Studies

Joseph Trinidad is the Operations Coordinator for the Institute for Latino Studies, a role that stems from his initial experience as a student assistant during his undergraduate years. He graduated from Notre Dame in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Latino Studies. Throughout his academic journey, Joseph cultivated a wide range of skills through internships, shadowing opportunities, and leadership roles. Notably, he contributed as a lab and research assistant in the Belkovsky Lab and the Latino Adolescents, Siblings, and Families Lab. His global outlook was profoundly enriched by his communications internship with the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) in London, UK. During this experience, he effectively highlighted stories of social change and the challenges of poverty across Latin America, showcasing the resilience and determination of communities striving for a better future.

Joseph’s commitment to helping others and aspirations to become a great professional is evident in his hands-on roles. As a Health Promotion Youth Developer at the Latin American Youth Center in Washington, D.C., he played a pivotal role in reproductive health initiatives and outreach programs. Additionally, in his work as a Stroke Patient Advocacy intern at Beacon Memorial Hospital in South Bend, he actively engaged with medical professionals to raise awareness about stroke care in the local community. Joseph’s diverse experiences underscore his passion for service and Latino advocacy.
