Lluvia Gaucin

Community Engagement Coordinator of the Institute for Latino Studies

Lluvia Gaucin is the Community Engagement Coordinator of the Institute for Latino Studies. A proud member of the Notre Dame Class of 2025, she holds a degree in American studies with minors in Latino Studies and Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy. 

During her senior year, Lluvia served as the Nacho Lozano Journalism Fellow in Communications and Marketing at the Institute, where she played a key role in developing content for the Institute’s 25th anniversary celebrations and documenting the rich history of Latinos at Notre Dame through the Somos ND campaign. She also served as the Anchor Intern for Latino Student Ministry in Campus Ministry and as a teaching assistant for the Institute's mariachi ensemble course. 

As an undergraduate, Lluvia was the recipient of several prestigious scholarships, including QuestBridge Match Scholarship and the Dream Big Scholarship. Her leadership extended across campus through her involvement with Mariachi ND, the Latinx Student Alliance, Coro Primavera, and Campus Ministry. 

Lluvia's passion for journalism and storytelling is reflected in her diverse experiences. While studying abroad in Spain, she served as a student columnist for Diario La Tribuna de Toledo. She also worked as a Summer Communications Intern at the Coalition for Spiritual and Public Leadership in Chicago, where she contributed to the organization’s inaugural annual congress. Lluvia remains committed to uplifting Latino communities through writing, advocacy, and service.
