The Samora Library of the Institute for Latino Studies, in conjunction with the Notre Dame Center for Arts & Culture, presents an exhibition of artworks from Cuban-born, American artists José Bernal. The works on display are from the Samora Library's collection along with pieces on loan from the Bernal family.  These nearly thirty works consist of paintings, collages, and assemblages as well as those whose topics he revisited throughout his career, including the Unicorn and the Cuba & Balseros (rafters) Series. All of the works shown span the more than forty years of José Bernal's productive Career.
